Do you love the smell of fresh bread? Even if gluten isn't your best friend, Bake N' Cakes may have something delicious. This locally owned bakery has been making the Greater Lansing and Mid-Michigan sweeter since 1983.
For many neighbors in Lansing, Bake N' Cakes has become the go-to spot for all things baked, especially customized cakes and cookies. The bakery, easily recognizable by its sign along the highway, has built a reputation for reliability and quality. To improve awareness and foster community engagement, I redesigned the Bake N' Cakes brand to showcase both the process and product of baking.
What is Bake N’ Cakes…
A friendly, local, traditional bakery that provides fresh and quality goods in addition to customized orders.
When I began working on the brand, I composed this one sentence description to understand essential characteristics of the bakery and what made them stood out from their competitors. Through this process, I discovered the semantics of my description and identified "The Outlier: Customization,” which ultimately inspired the iconography for Bake N’ Cakes.
